Introduction to Divemaster and going pro

Be a leader who mentors and motivates others. Gain dive knowledge, supervision abilities, and become a role model to divers around the world.

Your journey into leadership starts with the PADI Divemaster course. You’ll practice supervising diving activities and assisting with students in training as well as improving your knowledge and skills to a Professional level.

PADI Divemasters can work as dive guides on dive boats and at resort locations, assist PADI Instructors with diver training, lead PADI Scuba divers on guided tours and conduct PADI Discover Scuba Diving (after training to become a DSD Leader), Discover Local Diving and Scuba Review programs.

The PADI Divemaster rating denotes an individual who has exemplary diving skills and role model behaviour, solid rescue skills, professional knowledge of dive theory, dive management and supervision abilities, and competence as an Instructor’s assistant.

The course is very intensive but can be run on a very flexible schedule tailored to how much time you can devote to the course.

The PADI Divemaster Course is made up of knowledge development and theory presentations, confined pool sessions, stamina exercises and open water dives as part of an internship.

Knowledge development consists of 12 topics and is based on independent study using a wide range of materials. Home study is the key with theory presentations to ensure mastery.
