For Open water & referral openwater courses knowledge development is completed in the classroom at our store on Thursday evening between 6:00-7.00pm.
Confined Water Training.
This is completed at Queens leisure centre Pool, Derby DE1 3PA between 8:30-9.30pm Thursday evenings. The pool has shallow and deep ends and is large enough for you to practice properly before your open water dives.
For safety your pool training is conducted water depths of 1.2 to 2.1metres, this makes the transition to your open water dive site easy, as your first two dives will be no deeper than about 6 metres.
Open Water Training.
For your convenience the Open Water training is usually completed at the National Diving Centre at Stoney Cove in Leicestershire, generally at weekends. This site is a disused quarry that is now devoted to scuba diving. (see pictures of Stoney Cove here) Sometimes training can also be carried out, by special arrangement, on overseas trips to popular dive destinations such as the Red Sea.
Transport to training locations is not included in course prices. However, if you have difficulty with transport, car sharing can normally be arranged.
For most courses a £50 deposit is required to book a place. This also covers the cost of PADI training materials which you will receive on course booking.
